सुपर कमांडर रूरू के ऑफिस में घुसते ही निनहुई ने घोषणा की।
“वेलकम,” रूरू ने कहा
और निनहुई द्वारा दी गई चिप अपने सामने लगे सुपर कंप्यूटर में लगाई। स्क्रीन पर बहुत
सारा डाटा और चित्र एक के बाद एक आने लगे।
“गुड, लगता है तुम
पृथ्वी के काफी पास से गुजरे हो,” स्क्रीन पर ही नज़रें जमाए रूरू ने कहा।
“जी, करीब ज़ीरो पाइंट वन सिक्स एस्टॉनोमिकल यूनिट दूर से,”
“ओके, जाओ और अपनी
छुट्टियों का मजा लो।”
निनहुई के जाने के
बाद रूरू काफी देर तक डाटा देखता रहा तभी स्क्रीन पर एक मैसेज ब्लिंक करने लगी। रूरू
ने मैसेज रिट्रीवर ऑन किया।
“एजेंट एक्स फ्रॉम
अर्थ स्पाई मिशन रिर्पोटिंग फ्रॉम पॉइंट जीरो………………… पृथ्वी वासी हमारे शिप को बिल्कुल नहीं पहचान पाए
हैं। वे इसे किसी अन्य आकाशगंगा से आया उल्का पिंड मानते हैं, डिस्टेंट मैसेंजर………
ओमुआमुआ………………… विस्तृत रिपोर्ट साथ में संलग्न है…………”
“जब कभी हमें अपना
ग्रह छोड़कर कहीं और बसने की आवश्यकता होगी तो पृथ्वी इसके लिए एक उपयुक्त ग्रह साबित होगा। वहां आपस में
लड़ने वाली और पर्यावरण की गंभीर उपेक्षा करने वाली एक प्रजाति रहती है जो सर्वाधिक
विकसित है और सारे ग्रह पर शासन करती है। वह तकनीकी स्तर पर हमारे सामने एक दिन एकदम
बौनी है। हम जब चाहेंगे आसानी से उन पर काबू कर सकेंगे…………………… हमें वहां रहने की जगह
के साथ साथ गुलामों की एक बड़ी आबादी भी मिलेगी जो वहां निरंतर तेजी से बढ़ रही है…………

को डिक्टेट की और वेगा काउंसिल के प्रमुख को भेज दी।
Oumuamua is the first and currently only interstellar object detected
passing through the Solar System. Formally
designated 1I/2017 U1, it was discovered
by Robert Weryk using the Pan-STARR telescope at Haleakala Observatory, Hawaii, on 19 October 2017, 40 days after it passed its closest
point to the Sun. When first seen, it was about
33,000,000 km (21,000,000 mi; 0.22 AU)
from Earth (about 85 times as far away as the Moon), and already heading away
from the Sun.
The name comes from Hawaiian ʻoumuamua,
meaning 'scout' (from ʻou, meaning 'reach out for', and mua, reduplicated for emphasis, meaning 'first, in
advance of'), and reflects the way this object is like a scout or messenger
sent from the distant past to reach out to humanity. It roughly translates to
"first distant messenger”. Before the official name was decided upon, the
name Rama was suggested, the name given to an alien spacecraft
discovered under similar circumstances in the 1973 science fiction novel Rendezvous
with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke.
Oumuamua passed within the orbit of Earth on 14 October at a distance of
approximately 0.1616 AU (24,180,000 km; 15,020,000 mi) from Earth, and went back north of the ecliptic on 16 October and
passed beyond the orbit of Mars on 1 November. It passed beyond
Jupiter's orbit in May 2018, and passed beyond Saturn's orbit in January 2019
and will pass Neptune's orbit in 2022. It will take the object roughly
20,000 years to leave the Solar System completely.
What is it? Several possibilities ranging from a rock from the ort cloud
of some distant galaxy to asteroid to collection of space debris are
entertained. Can it be a spy space craft from some other civilization flourishing
on some other planet in a distant galaxy? Why not? This is the idea behind this
“short short SF story” which also has concerns with rising environmental
pollution, population explosion, disintegrating social harmony on earth.
